Bahamian Cold Front vs Canadian Cold Front
10 December 2016
We've spent the last two days in Bimini waiting for the cold front and it's associated strong winds to pass before continuing on. The strongest winds are forecast for tonight with gusts to 30+ kts. so we'll sit here for another day or two. The local lobster fishing fleet is back in the harbour as well waiting out the weather. This combined with the crowd from a cruise ship that was anchored off the harbour gave the town a festive atmosphere. We are hanging around with our new friends Greg and Glenda from Ti Amo and doing a few light boat chores.
Yesterday we all went for a nice long walk to explore Alicetown and the beach before stopping at a roadside stand for a delicious shrimp lunch. Today we plan on renting a golf cart and touring the island, hopefully the winds will drop a bit this afternoon and we can try out our kayak.
