Wind, Wind and more Wind
03 March 2017
The forecasted cold front has arrived and the northeast wind is already blowing 25 and gusting with predictions as high as 40 knots. However, we are safely tucked away in Yacht Haven and have enjoyed our first unrestricted shower in a while. This marina has been completely revamped over the last year and is beautiful, complete with a nice pool and patio restaurant bar.
When we first arrived in town on Wednesday we hooked onto a mooring ball in the east end of the very busy harbour. Spanish Wells has an extremely active fishing fleet and it's amazing how much small freighter traffic comes and goes as well. We were throughly entertained for 2 days watching all the action; it's amazing how they get some of these boats in and out of these small harbours. We hooked up with friends we had met in Georgetown and spent Thursday afternoon checking out the town and enjoying a nice lunch on a deck over looking the ocean. Once all our chores were done we went for a nice walk on the beach, which some people consider the prettiest beach with in the islands.
Today's picture was taken at the beach in Spanish Wells.
