For Sale

26 March 2017
We left Man of War this morning after spending 4 days there waiting for the winds to abate. Yesterday we visited the local museum and got a glimpse of how tough island life has been for these people who have created a prosperous community on the edge of the Atlantic. The renowned boat builders who lived here really put Man Of War on the map; the largest Bahamian schooner was built here and participated in the 1976 Tall Ships reunion in NY.

While paroussing the chart this morning, looking for a new anchorage to try, I spotted Tavern Cay and I couldn't resist the temptation to check it out. The cay is located 3 miles south of Hope Town, where we are anchored in a small bay which provides great protection from the east. The rugged shoreline is dotted with a few beautiful homes, unfortunately everything is private so we can't go ashore. Oh well, we can always swim and kayak for our daily exercise.

Today's picture is of a house for sale on Tavern Cay. For those of you who are looking for waterfront property, this is a real find. The house includes: private harbour, boat lift, and three acres of land overlooking the Sea of Abaco. Cha Ching, Cha Ching $$$$$
