Finally on the Move Again

06 May 2017
We've had a great stay in Annapolis but we're anxious to get moving and stage for our run up the Jersey coast. It has been rainy and very windy here the last couple of days with heavy thunderstorms in the area yesterday. The annual Nood Regatta cancelled the first day of racing Friday so it was a wise decision for us to stay put. However later in the day it cleared sufficiently to allow us to visit the local Marimte Museum and stretch our legs ashore. The heavy rains and high tides have caused some local flooding so getting in and out of the dinghy was a bit of a challenge. However, after looking at everyone's FB pictures it's nothing compared to HYC.

The weather over the next week is quite unstable and difficult for the forecasters to get a handle on. However, it looks like we can stage to Cape May by Monday and get up the coast to New York Tuesday and Wednesday. We then plan on spending a couple of days in NY before heading up the Hudson.

Today's picture is of the lunchtime parade at the Naval Academy. Every day at noon all the students form up in uniform, the school's
top brass stand on the steps and the band plays while the students march in for lunch.
