Windy and Cold
21 October 2018
We were awakened in the middle of the night when the forecasted winds arrived like a freight train. Out of nowhere it went from calm to over 20 knots and it stayed like that all day. Fortunately, we were pushed away from the dock as it gusted to 40 knots throughout the day and the temperature never got above 12c. We stayed on the boat to keep an eye on things plus it was too cold to go anywhere anyways. Finally it started to moderate around 5 and tomorrow looks like a good day for the next leg of the trip.
We had an enjoyable dinner with my mother's cousin and her husband at a nice restaurant in town. They're both actively involved in environmental issues and we had a chance to learn more about the health of Chesapeake Bay. We're off to Deltaville tomorrow morning and then Norfolk where we will start down the ditch.
Today's picture is of a boat I spotted in the yard here. The name
caught my eye, it reminded me of Serge Rozon's wife, "Sweet Pea"
