Maintenance Day
02 November 2018

The forecasted crummy weather arrived during the night with heavy rain squalls and wind gusts well into the thirties. Bev went up to the office this morning, which is 250 feet from the boat. As she left to return to the boat a light shower started, but by the time she got to the boat the skies had opened up and she looked like a she had stood in a shower. We had already decided to stay put for the day, which turned out to be a good thing since the wind topped out at 40 knots.
So, it was time to give Dagny a little TLC that she deserves. I changed the engine oil and filter, plus two fuel filters while checking over the engine. Bev worked hard cleaning the inside while I finished up with battery maintenance and a good wash of the cockpit. There was no need to wash the deck as it was continually pressure washed all day by the rain squalls. We're all set for the next phase of the trip; we're leaving in the morning for a couple of days in the ICW before jumping off to Charleston.
Today's picture was taken at our anchorage on the Alligator river on Tuesday. Slightly better weather than today.
