Thanksgiving Day
22 November 2018
We've had a fun few days in St. Augustine wandering around town with Paul and Laurie and today is what everyone has been waiting for. Its the annual Cruiser's Thanksgiving Potluck Dinner which is hosted by a local group of boaters. They supply the main course and the visiting boaters supply side dishes and desserts. The dinner and a small swap meet will be followed by a jam session for those with musical talent (which doesn't include me).
One of the local Irish bars hosts a cruiser's happy hour on Wednesdays for the transient boaters who are in town. It's a great chance to meet and make new friends and exchange stories. Afterwards we enjoyed a quiet dinner at one of the many outdoor terraces before returning to the boats for an early night.
The weather is going to be a little squirrelly for the next couple of days so we'll be staying in the ICW for a while. The plan is to head to Daytona tomorrow then on towards Cocoa Beach.
Today's picture is of a beautifully decorated gazebo in the Old Market Square.
