Merry Christmas From Black Point
25 December 2018
Bev and I would like to wish everyone who follows our blog a very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2019!
We had a beautiful sail yesterday in 20 knots of breeze from Staniel Cay to Black Point. We had spent Christmas here 2 years ago and had a great time so we were looking forward to a return visit and sharing Christmas with some of our new friends. As we arrived in the anchorage we heard a familiar voice calling us on the radio to welcome us to the anchorage. It turned out to be the crew of Banyan, with whom Bev and I crewed for in the New’s Day Regatta 2 years ago. The rest of the day was spent catching up with everyone, making plans for Christmas dinner and of course a visit to the laundromat.
Christmas Day has dawned, cloudy, windy and rainy so the anchorage is quiet this morning, however I believe Santa still made a visit to Black Point. Our buffet dinner at Lorraine’s restaurant is scheduled for 2:30 so with any luck the weather will improve by then. The forecast is for strong east winds the next 3 days, 20-25 knots with gusts into the 30s, fortunately we’re well protected in the harbour so we expect to be here until Saturday. Unfortunately there is problem with the Wifi network in town so blog postings will be limited.
Today’s picture was actually taken in St. Augustine but I thought it appropriate for today.
