The fall

They say the sum of ones life comes to them when they die, I've always tried to leave as little in my stern as possible. An old girl friend had asked me to meet her in NC for the funeral of a friend. We stayed at the Hilton Hotel and when we were walking out I guess I fell. When I came to, I was lays in a puddle of water cold & wet, the rain was still coming down hard around me and I couldn't feel my hands or legs. Someone was yelling to get an ambiance and that's the last thing I remember for two days. When I woke up at Cape Fear Hospital, there were two doctors asking if I wanted anything. Hell yes, back on my boat where I could be away from all of this craziness.
Well it's been several months, all the tests are back and the doctors all say the same thing, NO SAILING! One more fall and your never going to walk again period. So the boat is going to be sold to pay for the back operation and I die a little everyday.
