On the way from Marathon to Key West we went right through a pretty brisk thunderstorm. Photo shows the XM satellite weather overlay on our chart plotter. The black triangle is Dance Aweigh's position. Green represents light rain. The more serious stuff is depicted in yellow, orange magenta & purple. The "Z" is lightning.

2008 saw Dance Aweigh in the Bahamas again. Our new ham radio was a big success, allowing us to send & receive email, & to download GRIB files when not in range of WiFi. The weather was fantastic & we covered a lot of ground, including Bimini, Nassau, Eleuthera, Cat Island, Conception, Long [...]
