The Last Supper
12 June 2009 | Smokehouse Bay, Marco Island, FL.
RFE
After a wonderful time in Key West, we set the alarm for 5 am, pulling anchor at 6 am, 35 minutes before dawn. We motorsailed in beautiful conditions for most of the day, but the NW wind picked up to the low 20s as we approached Marco, giving us some nice seas. The tide was going out of Capri Pass as we entered at 7 pm. This combined with the incoming seas to welcome us home in style. Grendel dropped anchor in Smokehouse Bay & Dance Aweigh rafted to her starboard side. Fran prepared a wonderful dinner of Mahi Mahi (thanks Bone Cutter) & on Grendel we all celebrated the conclusion of a fine Bahamas cruise. Having Fran & Herm along was the highlight of this year's trip for us!
The following morning Dance Aweigh quietly returned to her slip at The Marina at Factory Bay - she performed beautifully this year, with no system failures whatsoever. We'll truly miss being aboard! 'Till next time!
