Welcome back to our blog. It has been two years since we have been on the boat and we continuing our journey of the Down East Circle Route which will take us from our current position in Baddeck, Nova Scotia down the east coast of Canada and the United States to New York City where we will transit the Hudson River to the Erie Canal which will bring us back to our home waters of Lake Ontario. It has been a crazy busy time getting the boat launched and ready for the trip. Andy has been here at Baddeck Marine for 10 days and I've been here for 6 days and after checking out all of the boat systems, cleaning and stowing the boat, I am happy to report that we are ready to depart.
Almost every day since we have been here there has been a piper on the dock greeting passengers as they depart the local sail tour boat. We also took advantage of the local fish monger on the dock and had fresh fish for dinner on several nights.
It wasn't all work though... we took a day trip to the Glenora Distillery - Canada's only single malt scotch distillery to enjoy our second great passion. The Glenora is famous for their fight with Scotland over the use of the word "Glen" in their product. Andy is seen here pouring his personal numbered bottle from the barrel.
