We got into Bahia Santa Maria just before sunset on the 6th. Our 1st day out of Turtle bay we had a nice sail till about 21:00 that evening, but then the wind died and we powered the rest of the way.
Scott has been catching lots of fish, including a double strike as we arrived here. He's loving it!
There is just a very small fishing village in Baja Santa Maria, and lots of white beaches. Vicki and I had a wonderful time finding shells the first day. Big white sand dollars and lots of other interesting shells. Being on the boat I left most of them behind! Scott and Jess spent the next day on the same beach and had a great time. There are a few hills so Dave and Vicki and I hiked up one very early one morning. Too hot to do it any other time! We were also able to snorkel there and saw a lot of fish!
The locals cooked for the Baja Ha group a fabulous meal one afternoon. They also had a live band come over from La Paz. IT was a lot of fun, but really hot even though we were up on a bluff.
