Vacation

25 September 2013 | Jacksonville, FL, USA
We're on a little vacation and couldn't have picked a better time. The temp in San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico was unbearable. Because it was nearly 100 every day, we tended to hide out in the air conditioned cabin from 9 am to 6 pm. Too much time stuck in a small space.

We are now in Jacksonville, FL, USA where it is in the mid 80's every day and even though it's much more humid, it's very, very comfortable.

We've been busy visiting parks and seeing other tourists sites. I wish there was this much to do in Mexico. Plus, we are able to get all kinds of things that we can't buy in Mexico, clothes and shoes included. You must be wondering why we can't buy clothes and shoes in Mexico. American shoe brands in Mexico are usually priced about 30% higher than in the States. The Mexican brands are poorly made and have little support. Not good for sore feet. And clothes? Well, if you like cheap polyester fabrics like we wore in 1975 then you'd be happy shopping in Mexico. Not me. It's already 100 degrees, why would I want to wrap myself in scratchy plastic?

I haven't driven a car in 11 months and unlike most people, I actually LIKE to drive so having a car has been a real treat for me. Zoom, zoom!
