POP! Fssssssshhhh......

18 January 2014
How many stores do you have to visit in a small Mexican town in order to collect just 3 small bags of groceries? Today it was 6. One for cookies and rice. Another for TP and cat food. A third for tortillas… on and on it goes. Tomorrow I start looking for fresh vegis but some friends showed me where a good vegi stand is so I might be able to get everything that we need there. One stop shopping!!

While Ken and I were cleaning out a cupboard today we heard what sounded like a tiny explosion and then air rushing out of something. A couple of hours later we hopped in the dinghy and discovered a seam in our inflatable dinghy floor had failed. Ken made a repair this evening with glue that expired 9 years ago. Tomorrow will tell us if it holds or not. We bought the dinghy used several years ago and it's getting pretty worn out. The trouble is that new dinghies aren't readily available for sale in Mexico. Jeez, if you want something for a boat here, you pretty much have to bring it with you.
