Half Way Day!
09 April 2015 | Somewhere on the Pacific, still
We figure that today might be our half way day. Hopefully yesterday was. Today is day 12 of our passage from the Galapagos to The Marquesas in French Polynesia and we still have 1457 nautical miles to go.
Things are good although I wouldn't want to do this passage again. Seas have been very choppy, we experience squalls every night and it's hard having to hold on 24/7 for this long of a time. Even right now I've got both hands on the keyboard but have my feet propped along a wall and the companionway latter to keep me at the computer. Eating has been a joke. I can manage cutting up fruit and cheese or heating something up in a pan but cooking a meal is out of the question.
I will be glad to have this accomplishment under my belt but am questioning my sanity when I didn't think about flying to New Zealand and buying a boat there. Duh.
I can receive short text messages at 881623415542. I'd be delighted to hear from my friends and family. Questions, notes of encouragement, and jokes are all appreciated!
I am in contact with 14 other boats who are all in the general area. We meet on the SSB radio every day at noon,
