Margot Day & Mexican Potluck

01 August 2013 | Warm Spring Bay
John/Sunny!!!
We suppose that this could be named Margot day since this is the day Wally has been awaiting for many weeks. She arrived by seaplane from Sitka via Seattle. Also arriving today on the same float plane were Cheryl (Jim's brother Roy's girlfriend) and Kyle (Sue's son) with his girlfriend Rachel. Today was another stellar day with warm weather and blue skies - this is really an anomaly for SE Alaska, but we will take it! A major highlight today was a hike up to Baranof Lake which was absolutely gorgeous. We had received a tip that there was a canoe up there that is available for those who want to use it, but there are no paddles. So Deb and John hiked up there with a kayak paddle just in case. Sure enough there was a nice aluminum canoe there and we had the most amazing time rowing that canoe out onto this pristine mountain lake with awesome views everywhere. When we returned Mike and Anne were eager to borrow the paddle and take a turn. John took a dip and it wasn't too bad. That night we had Mexican Fiesta night on the dock with everyone providing something for the potluck Mexican dinner. There were many laughs and the margaritas kept the mood frisky. This ends our 4 nights at Warm Springs Bay. It has been an awesome spot and a place we would love to return to in the future.
