More Silvers!

John/Sunny!!!
Today we had some gray weather to start the day off but by afternoon we had sunshine again. We headed off to Pybus Bay on the southern end of Admiralty Island. On the way we all fished. Having caught primarily pinks the day before John talked to Bill and Jim and apparently they were going deeper than we were fgoing and had caught more silvers that us. So we let out both lines and it took a while but eventually we had 2 pinks - we were now becoming a bit ho hum about pinks since the real goal was to catch silvers. However, the pinks are good bait for both crabbing and shrimping. But we were not done fishing… Over the next 60-90 minutes we had 2 big strikes that fought like crazy as we brought them to the surface and we finally netted both of them. They were big beautiful silvers. At that point having caught 2 pinks and 2 silvers, we called it a day. As it turned out we were the only ones of all the boats who caught fish today and so we felt pretty good as we cruised into Pybus Bay. We went over to Ruby and picked up Jim and asked him to come over to help John fillet the silvers cause we did not want to screw them up. After this we rafted with Blue Moon for the night and had a gray meal with Wally, Margo, Nick and Dee Ann. The menu was barbecued fresh silver salmon, freshly baked bread and broccoli from Deb's galley, a great rice dish from Dee Anne and we ate on Blue Moon. We set a crab pot before calling it a night.
