Galaxidi
15 September 2012
Pretty Galaxidi is a low-key resort on the Gulf of Corinth with narrow cobbled streets and lots of bourgainvillea. In the 18th & 19th c. it was a prosperous port until the Turks occupied the area and captured the fleet. With a forested headland and pebbled swimming coves opposite the waterfront, it was a very pleasant stopover.
CRUISERS NOTES
Free water & electric!?
When we visited, we were met by a skingg bald guy who was insistent about helping us us and then telling us that he would only charge us 5 euros for water, which we declined. Turns out he is the local crazy man and should be ignored. A couple of large motor yachts came in and he did the same to them!
