It was our last night in Florida and so Katherine and I busied ourselves in the kitchen whilst the guys sorted the barbecue out. What we don't understand is why the Americans say 'erbs' when the word is spelt 'herb'. Why do they drop the 'h'? We practised the correct pronunciation using the apron as a prop - the letter 'h' is there underneath the tab!
