Slowly, ever so slowly, the work list is becoming shorter and shorter. Fuel transfer system is no longer the moster of valves and piping. What's the fuel transfer system? The main engine and generator work off one 150 gallon tank and as it runs dry I have to manually flip valve and turn on an electric fuel transfer pump to fill the day tank from either the bow or stern tank. After trial and error, plus spilling some fuel on the decks via the overflow vents Mike and I dialed it in late last night! Next on the hit list is dialing in a getting the remaining air out of the steering system. Then stock up on food, top of the tanks of fuel and water and hit the road so to speak. We will do short sea trail on the way to the fuel dock just to make sure we are good to go! When we leave we will be heading for 30degrees north by 150 degrees west to get up over the high pressure system and into wind. The long range forecast looks very favorable for heading home. While I have internet access, I have been using passageweather.com for planning the trip. Once at sea then I'll be receiving weather updates via the sat phone. Below are some photos of the crew and the boat while we checking out the reefing system for the mainsail.
