Due to engine failure PLUS losing our electrical system, we deemed it prudent to return to Oahu to effect repairs. If we had contiued, more than likely would have depleted our batteries, have no way to manuver the boat in the shipping lanes and would have extended our trip by 34 days or so. As we are about 500 miles from Oahu, it was pretty much a no brainer on what to do. as it is,with no engine, we have been playing with what winds there are to travel lower where winds should be. Always the wind! Guess why it's a sailboat and not a powerboat. At our present speed, the return trip may take between 4 to 7 days. Wish us luck! ship's e-mail..... goforbroke@ocens.net The merry crew
