Yesterday's run was 130 miles for a 24 hour period. Not too bad for this heavy girl! We really needed a relaxing day yesterday after the night before, as I think I mentioned earlier. So around 3 in the afternoon, I started cooking up 3lbs. of penne pasta, chopped up some garlic, about enough to keep a legion of vampires away for a month!,diced and stewed tomatoes, onions, peppers and 2 lbs. of burger. Then let the sauce simmer till around 6 and it was a pig out then a movie. When the sun set we watched K19 in the cockpit under a black sky filled with stars. Nice flat seas and a warm breeze, perfect end to a relaxing day. Soon I'll shut the motor down, no wind in the last 14 hrs, and give her a good check up and feeding. Oil,water, trans fluid, belt check, check for any oil or fuel leaks, change fuel filters if need and so on. Gotta keep this new engine happy and well cared for as we have about 1300 miles to go. Spotted our first ship this trip around 6 am. Tried to contact them but no answer, maybe no English? They stayed 3 miles out then slowly crossed our bow for looked like Mexico. Odd there haven't been more ships out, high crude prices? Remember you can send us e-mail at goforbroke@ocens.net. I update the blog and get e-mail everyday around 12 to 12:30.
