Sitting on the dock of the bay

22 July 2012
sunny
Still trapped in Bodega Bay, a pleasant, friendly and well maintained harbor. We washed the boat, repaired the autopilot and I removed the vertical battens from the furling main sail to facilitate furling in and out. It is very unpleasant to have it hang up when it has become imperative to reduce sail. We are down to the wire on time and must leave here tomorrow. The seas are supposed to get better but 6 to 9 foot swells at 8 seconds with southwest winds are predicted again. We may be able to use this however, once we get around Point Reyes. If all goes well we should be sailing under the Golden Gate tomorrow afternoon.
