In search of warmer weather

Michael / Sunny and windy
We have left our windy moorage by the Golden Gate in hopes of a bit more sunshine and protection from the wind a little further inland. So we moved to Brisbane, which has a harbor of about 500 boats of which Desert Vision is sizing up as one of the largest.
Entering the channel on a low tide of +2ft was slow and dicey with the sounder reading occasional depths of 0.0ft under our keel. Desert Vision needs 7 feet of water to float so we know that we cannot make it out of the harbor again on a tide of less than 2 feet.
We were instantly impressed with a continual stream of clouds rapidly flowing over the shoreline at gale force speeds and continual 25 knot winds on our beam. This phenomenon kept up all through our first night in the marina and so far throughout all of this day.
This morning, after doing our laundry and boat chores, we left the marina and hiked the Cal Train railroad tracks about 45 minutes to the actual town of Brisbane. Small, cute and hosting several tiny eateries along a single main street, we chose a little Chinese Food restaurant for lunch. Delicious and reasonable it was. We then went to a grocery and both of us filled our backpacks and ambled back down to the railroad tracks to make our way back to the marina.
The wind is still blowing at 25 knots but the sun is shining so we are happy. Tomorrow we are going to try to negotiate public transportation to the Ferry building down on the wharf in San Francisco. I will try to post some pictures too.
