West Fjords, Iceland - close to nature

22 July 2017 | West Fjords, Iceland
Janice
We took a few days away from harbour in the West Fjords to relax after the prop change but also to test the new prop. Lovely quiet anchorages for a few good nights sleep but also we watched nature. Here in the West Fjords nature is not frightened of humans which has resulted in some amazing close up encounters; initiated by the animals themselves, as shown in the pictures of the Arctic Fox and the Guillemot. Some locals have commented about the foxes becoming too numerous and killing sea birds but ... that is what nature does. Without human interference nature is pretty good at self management.
