Closing The Circle ... Not Necessarily a Circumnavigation

13 August 2017 | 60 07.3'N:43 38.9'W, Prins Christian Sund, South Greenland
Janice : 0kts wind, 20 degrees and blue skies
Today at approximately 12.30 pm Andy and I 'closed the circle' by returning to Prins Christian Sund. We were last here in August 2001, in our previous boat Samen for a climbing/sailing expedition. It was on the return passage to Stornoway that we decided to 'change our lifestyles' but came to the conclusion 'we need a bigger boat; we'll build one'. We then spent 8.5 years building Destiny from a pallet of flat sheets. We have been living aboard on the water since October 2013 but spent the previous 18 months living aboard ashore in Fox's Marina while we completely finished Destiny. It was definitely worth taking the extra time.

In 2001 we left Prins Christian Sund in fog having had an excellent visit to the Danish Weather Station, now un-manned. Today we navigated into the entrance in fog using the radar but the weather gods smiled and the sun cleared the fog for us to take the picture attached. We have left the Atlantic ocean to join the Labrador Sea. Now we start another circle. Where it will take us we do not know but it will certainly be fun navigating it.
