The morning after we arrived back in Port Vila, we called the office on the VHF radio and arranged a berth on the seawall; this is a little more expensive than the moorings, but comes with power and water, so this combined with easier shore access makes it more convenient to provision and fill the tanks. There are Swiss, German, French, US, Kiwi, Aussie, British and Turkish flagged yachts here at present - there is a very cosmopolitan feeling along the seawall.
The morning after we tied up, an Aussie yacht and another vessel (BVI-flagged) with a Russian family onboard both radioed in to say they had lost use of their engines and generators and needed help to enter the harbour. John and another yachtie took dinghies out and towed the vessels in, much to everyone's relief.
We have had a couple of days rest and now are getting stuck into maintenance tasks before provisioning and moving south to Noumea again. We'll be in touch in a day or two. Here are a few pics from Port Vila -
