Today was one of those bad new, good news type of days. The bad news is we knew we were in for stong North winds. The wind blows hard from the North whenever a high pressure system is over the four corners area of the US. Today was forcast at 20 to 25 knots. Two boats left this moring and both were back in about an hour. It is hard to discribe the pounding you take with big winds here. The waves are big and very close together and it is just no fun at all and very hard on the boat. We we had resigned ourselves to working on the wind generator and other inside projects. Wow, what do you think the wind blew in; a great big shrimp boat. It was so rough even they wanted some resbit from the waves and they anchored in our bahia. One of the other cruisers went oout and talked to them. Then he came by and said he could by 10 kilos of shrimp for 1,000 pesos and did we want in. We said yes and before you know it we had bought 5 kilos of shrimp or a little over 10 pounds for about $37.00 or $3.50 a pound. Not only that, they were "Grande" shrimp which meant some of them were the size of small lobsters. They remind you of the Bar Prawns at someones favorite restuant. Nelda contrived a BBQ sause out of various things we happend to have on the boat and they were wonderful. We only have 9 more meals of these babies left. Yum!!! So the wind was out friend today. We spent most of the day on the boat but did venture ashore. Even when the wind blows it is warm, in the 70"s day and night. It is really hard to think this is November. We are loosing track of time and the day and the date. We are always asking each other what day it is just to try and keep up. Frankly we don't care what day it is. Tomorrow is forcast to be much calmer so we are moving on up north. We will let you know where the wind blows us tomorrow.
