Hello again from San Evaristo. Today something really unusal happened, the wind stopped blowing. It was getting to the point it was driving us crazy. As I write this it is calm but the forecast is for strong Southerly winds tonight about 2am. Your whole life on a sail boat revloves aound which way the wind is blowing and how strong. It is pretty obvious this is important when you are sailing but it is even more important when you are setting the hook for the night. Nothing, and I repeat nothing is more fun that getting up at 2 am and finding out you are being blown close to some rocks because you anchored the wrong way and the wind has shiffted. Anything that is hard to do tin the day time is 10 times harder to do at night. So we have moved to the other side of the bay that gives us protection from a South wind. Todays photo was taken by Nelda. It is a great shot of a pelican. They are one of the most gracfull birds you wll ever see. The soar on the wind and dive for fish and many time a line of ten or so of them will just skim the water, their wing tips almost touching the water. Nelda found some pelican boans today. It is amazing how light they are. We didn't do much today wihch was just fine by us. Some friends on Franny B arrived this afternoon and we had diner with them. What we do tomorrow it depends on which way the wind blows.
