Heading South

Larry
Greetings from our old friend Isla San Fransisco. Nelda and I have made our turn to the South as the weather here has become more extreme. The temperatures are still in the mid 70's to high 60's but each day the wind blows a little harder. Today was sort of a treat, the wind blew from the Southeast all day. A week ago that would have been great news as we were going North and it would have been a very nice sail. Today we were sailing into or across the wind all day. The waves were moderate and we had a good time. On days like today everybody is looking for some relief from the rocking that comes from the swells that can rock your boat from side to side all night if you don't have good protection. We stopped at one cove on the isla and it was ok but rolely so we moved around the corner and found a great spot. We are here with 6 other boats. Everyday you see something totally different and unexpected. Today it was thousands of little fish about 3 inches long jumping out of the water right next to Diamond Girl right after we anchored. It seemed that there were some bigger fish bellow that had the small ones trapped on the surface and it was diner time. We the pelicans hadn't had diner either so a dozen or so started diving rignt in next to the boat eatting fish from the surface. This went on for maybe two minutes. It's tough eeing a small fish here. Tonight we are eatting something more familar, steak and baked potatos. Nelda is doing a great job keeping the varietry in our meals. Her old fashoined oat meal in the morning is wonderful and the fresh eggs we bought 2 weeks ago and have not refrigerated are still as good as the day we bought them. The photo above is of another fabulous sunset. I know you may be gettting tired of seeing sunsets but everyone is so different in its own way. Tomorrow we are hopeing to get to Bahia Balandra. That is where we spent the wild night with 18 other Ha Ha boats in the windabout three weeks ago. The wether is supposed to be calm and we want to spend another day there before returing to La Paz and preparing to cross to the mainland.
