Hello from Mazatlan. When Nelda and I left you last we were in the middle of the Sea of Cortez and it was about 2am. One of the most challangeing parts of cruising is keeping a watch overnight. We usually breck it down into 2 to 3 hours shifts and "power sleep" in between when we are not in the cockpit. This night was very unusual as there was no wind and the sea was just like glass. We arrived about 7am and anchored out at Bird Island. Guess how it got its name! We both went to sleep for about 4 hours as we didn't have a slip in the marina until after 12. Somewhat refreshed we stopped at the fuel dock and while I filled up Nelda wtnt to the office for a slip. By 1:30 we were settled and it was time for another nap. That old sleep account has to be recharged one way or another or you get real crabby. When we were in La Paz we met a couple from Texas just walking down the street in the same dirrection as we were. They started telling us of places to go in Mazatlan as they had just come from here. One place they said we had to go to was "The Fat Fish". In his Texas drawl his guy said "I've eatten allot of BBQ'd ribs but the Fat Fish has the best ribs I have ever eatten and I'm from Texas". Well with a recommendation like that we had to go there for diner. The photo is of my plate. The ribs are hanging off the plate and yum were they good. We just relaxed today as Nelda has shared her cold with me so we are both taking Nyquil now. I preffer the original flavor while she "loves" the new and improved cherry flavor. We are palnning to stay about a week in the marina and rest up and do some projects we didn't get done in La Paz.
