Boobie Birds are an interesting lot. There are blue footed boobies, brown footed boobies and yellow footed boobies. Their feet look like they have been dipped in paint. They are really blue, brown and yellow. As yo can see from the picture boobies are real boobs for a camera. This is a mom and her chick. They weren't happy to see us but that may be due to the boobie reaserchers that stick their fingers into all the boobie holes to check them out. Boobies nest o the ground, perferably in the middle of the trail around the island. They scrape out a small indentation in the dirt and lay their eggs. The male is very attentive and is manytimes at the nest making the same squaking sound as the female when you walk by. All in all we have never seen anything like the boobies.
