Wow Wow Wow! Imagine my suprise when Nelda serves up Eggs Bendict for breakfast yesterday. I asked her, "where did this come from" and she said "I had some stuff in the galley I had to use up before it went bad". I just can't wait to see what other stuff is at the end of it's shelf life! As you can see from the plots we didn't make much progress south the last day or so but heasded more Westerly. We are getting to the point of finding a place to cross the Intercontenental Tropical Convergance Zone or ITCZ. This is a fancy term for where all the air in the Northern Hemispher comes down to duke it out with the air from the Southern Hemispher. It is kind of a turf war with BIG players. Now the trick is to find a weak spot or a hole that you can sneek through where the two teams aren't paying attention or are tired. Then it is smooth sailing. If you don't, you get some pretty active weather. Not life threatening but something you really don't want to experience. So we have decided there is a better chance of less activity fruther West. We are seeing more afternoon clouds building up as we go South. These will eventually turn into rain squals and then Nelda and I can run around the boat naked in the rain like they do in the movies. That's not a pretty picture is i t.
