So it dawned on me that while you hear alot about being bounced around you don't know much about where we live. Todays pic represents 1/3 of our total living space. It is the central salon or as you can see it has been converted to the war room. After a few inconsistant position reports on this blog Nelda took maters into her own hands and converted the salon into the Piloting and Navigation Command Post or PNCP. It looks just like the navigation nerve center on a nucular submarine, only different. Twice each day I call possition, course, wind, sea state and barometric presure down to Nelda in the PNCP. Then Nelda swings into action using all kinds of very official looking charting instruments. She even has mechanical pencils. In a few minutes the report is issued. "We have traved about an inch in the right direction!" Thank goodness! At this point the thought of going the wrong way even for a few hours is horrifying. She issues the report in laymans terms for my benifit. I personally find working with all these numbers a little cumbersome. and ,obviously confusing. One inch (which is about 120 miles) and the right direction (vs. the dreadded Wrong Direction) is all I need to know. Now, our PNCP has some benifits that you don't find on the big nukes. Its the formal dining room as well. With the stratigic placement of a few towels to cover the map it is now ready for the fine china. Well actually the fine china was all broken the first 4 days so we are eating of paper towels. Plus thats not all, add a little Pub Mix and a DVD and it becomes the Audio Visual Desplay Center, or as we call it the AVDC of the good ship Diamond Girl. The next time we will take and indepth tour of the FPCA. There are bonus points for anyone that figues that one out in advance.
