Greetings Today there is more on the equatorial celibration. As you can see from yesterdays pic Nelda spaired no expense on costumes for our party. Do these headdresses look home made to you? While we had lots of fun crossing the middle of the earth we also had some serious moments. Nelda made up a special card in rememberance of my mother Maxine. Mom loved floweres and Nelda found some flower sitckers that mom would have loved. Nelda also put together something for my brother Terry who passed away about 5 years ago. It seemed that is favorite nut in a can of mixed nuts was the Brazil nut. Now Tery was smart as he knew no one else like brazil nuts very much so he always got more than his share. So as Nelda and I were mowing down on mixed nuts and picking around the brazil nuts she decided to put together a package of brazil nuts just for Terry that we dropped in at the equator. We made one more dedication yesterday. That one it to the writer Arnold Skimmerhorn. Not many people know this but Skimmerhorn is the pen name for Duane Read, West Salem own authour extrodonair. Now not only does Arnold write, he encourages other to do the same, by giving away free pens. He has given away hundreds if not thousand, it may be tens of tens of thousand of free pens, only Duane Read knows for sure. One thing is certain, anyone that has ever had the opportuntiy to recieve an Arnold Skimmerhorn pen personally from Duane Read is one lucky person as he is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. So the dedication in Duane's package contained, what else, an Arnold Skimmerhorn pen. Now even Neptune has one of these beauties. More on our crossing tomorrow.
