Did I say WOW! After sailing all night we arrived at Rangeroa at sunup. We just missed the slack tide, which we found is the only time you can come through the pass. The lagoon here is so large it looks like the ocean inside and all the water in the lagoon has to flow out the pass when the tide runs. So we had to sit outside the pass for 6 hours bobbing up and down waiting for the next slack water. When we came, it all the tossing around was worth it as this place is magnificent! We are anchored in front Hotel Kia-Ora. It is one of those hotels with bungalows over the watert that you see in every travel brochure of Tahiti. The water is 40 feet deep and you can see the white sand bottom the water is so clear. We anchored and immediately and jumped in the water! There were beautiful tropical fish eating the algae right off the bottom of the boat! Have I said WOW lately? Todays pic is of the hotel that is located about 300 feet in front of the boat. We met some friends from Nuka Hiva and had a very nice dinner at the restaurant. It was just too late to write last night as we just fell ito bed. More later on Rangeroa.
