The fish that HAD to get away

Today was one of those once in life time days!!! After catching a couple tuna last night we started fishing again about sun up. We immediately caught two more tuna. That was just about right to fill the freezer. The about 8am we had a strike but it seamed small so I asked Nelda if she wanted another tuna. Well it did't stay small for long. This fish would make wild runs pulling out nearly all the line that we had on the real. We have 60lb test so it is strong stuff. Four hours later we got our first glace at this moster. It turned out to be a 14 ft blue Marlin. It was 1/3 the length of our boat! There is no way it would have fit in our cocpit. We estimate it weighted about 250lbs. It is the biggest fish I have ever see on a line. After discussing it, we came to the conclusion there was on one thing we could do with a fish this big and that was to let it go. As much as we wanted our lure back we cut the line and let it go. I wish the pic was better but it was pretty crazy when all his was going on.
