Today the girls took a tour of the island. Here you don't necessarily rent from Hertz or Avis, they rented from Alberts. That's right, Alberts. Now Alberts isn't a multinational corporation. I fact the car they got was probably the one his wife drives during the week. Most people here have may jobs to make ends meet. The economic downturn has had a dramatic effect on the umber of people vacationing here in Frech Polynesia. So back to the title of this piece, now I have traved a fair amount and I have seen Chinese food, Thai food, Indian food, Greek food, Itallian food, French food but I have never have see a sign proudly promoting Canadian food! Here we are 4,000 miles away from Canada and the last Canadian person or boat we saw was in Mexico, yet right on the main drive is this burger Joint the serves "Canadian" food. Now I don't believe the hamberger was invented in Canada but I guess since they are not serving any Canadian anyway, saying it gives it a international flavor . As I know a number of charming Canadians I know they will be happy to let the rest of us know what other exotic foods Canada is famous for. Hot dogs? Anyway, Nelda, Rebecca and Lilly had a great one and a half hour drive around the island and Albert's wife was happy to get her car back.
