Greatings From Friday Harbor The intrepid crew of the good ship Diamond Girl actually left Mill Bay at 8:40 this moring, a full 20 minutes ahead of schedule. It was a gray and clouldy day with the some light fog. What wasn't light was the traffic. Everyone from Canada was coming to the States and everyone from the States was on their way to Canada. We must have seen 100 boats in 4 hours. As we started to cross the Boundery Pass, the main shipping channel between the US and Canada, we were greeted by three very large container ships. Being the skilled seamen we are we circled the boat and let them pas while watching about a dozen other boats dodge between the big guys!

We arrived in Friday Harbor about 2:30 and after a very stressful meeting with the Customs officer, who would not believe me that I was not paying the crew, we went to the market. Now for those of you that don't know Diamond Girl is provisioned with more food than you find in most convienence stores. But that didn't stop us from buying more. The checkout girl felt sorry for us and had a guy drive our food down to the marina. So now that we have more food on board than than a cuirse ship and we are getting ready to out to eat! I doubt we will starve on this voyage.

More tomorrow as we make for Port Angeles.
