Glenn
Hello Blog followers. Guest bloger Glenn at the keyboard today. First a comment about Larry's blog from yesterday. Larry wanted to talk about weather but he forgot. Then he uploaded a weather map that wasn't recent. I don't know why but I am sure that there was a very good reason because, after all, he is the captain! Today we left Friday Harbour at 6:15 AM. The weather was slightly foggy but no rain and no wind. Pretty soon we were in heavy fog. Well it wasn't that bad, we could still see the bow of the boat. The trip across to Port Angelese was mostly uneventful. While I was at the helm, Larry and Mark were chatting about everything except what was happening As soon as I left the helm, all the laptops came out, the pads were tracking our position, the AIS was tracking the big ships and all conversation was about mysterious images on the radar. We chatted with Seattle traffic who really didnt care where we were it seemed. The most challenging part of the trip was the entry into PA harbour. A large tanker is anchored right in the middle of the entrance. Just as we were trying to determine how to enter, the Coho ferry called us and asked our intentions. How the heck did we know! In any case, we managed to evade the ferry and make it to the marina. The visibility at that point was about 50 yards.

We headed to the nearest pub for a beer. Larry went to town for parts and Mark and I went back to the boat to plan our next leg of the trip. Looking at the wind we will be here for another night and then off to Neah Bay. The photo of todays blog is our dinner on board. We had steak, Michelle's potatoes and green beans. Larry complained there were no brownies so as I am typing this blog, the oven is heating up.

Tomorrow is a pro D day. We will be doing some maintenance, cleaning, planning and drinking. We arn't sure we have enough food for the trip but Larry has his beef jerky so he is happy. Finally, we met some folks that have been trying to go south for a week now. They kept getting vlown back and finally gave up. Guess they didn't have the skilled sailors tha we have on board.

That's it for tday. I can quit now becasue Larry has just finished the dishes. Thanks for visiting and check back tomorrow when navigator Mark will blog for the first time. We have great expectations of Mark, after all, he is the junior guy on the trip! cheers Glenn
