Hi Everyone,

Guest blogger Mark here. Well, today is our last day before heading out to the Wild West Coast and leaving the relatively civilized, cell phone coverage, 3G data...ness of Port Angeles behind. Today we started the day with weather on our mind, so after a breakfast of the remaining brownies from last night, we started taking advantage of said civilization to download the latest weather forecasts. So far it's looking really good for an early Monday departure from Neah Bay, which will be our destination tomorrow. Port Angeles, from the limited part of it I have seen, seems like a very nice town. I am embarrassed to say that I have never been here after living in Victoria, BC for 13 years and having daily ferry schedules over here. I will have to make another trip over to see more. The marina we are in is very industial. As you can see from the picture there is a boat yard, with fishing boats, and all varietes of commercial craft and sailing vessels up on stands on shore in various states of repair. As this is the last day of "civilization" for a while we took the oppertunity to shower on land without the worry of conserving fresh water. True to the nature of the place the shower was wonderfully strong, almost industrial power wash like. And cheap! $0.25 for two and a half minutes. I set myself up for 15 minutes of "preassure washing" but found I was as clean as I was going to get after only 12. We went for a lovely last dinner out before more than a week of boat meals and had a great meal at Soho. It's an aisian style place with a variety of different meals from all over the Orient. We all picked a meal and shared. Glenn picked the Duck and it was amazing. Well, after getting up early and finishing off the last things that needed to be done before heading offshore such as topping off tanks, securing loose items and last minute maintenance checks we are ready to go, and ready for bed. 5:00 am will come early, so with that I'll say good night and sign off.

Until next time,

Mark
