Greetings from the good ship Diamond Girl. We had a great day today. Last night the wind came up to about 25 kts. We had just the jib up and we were going as fast as the boat will go. This morning we reduced sail in anticipation of stronger winds the never came but we still were flying. Todays pic is of Glenn and Mark with the ocean in the background. We had long beautiful swells directly from behind, it was a great day sailing! We did have a mystery early in the moring as the aft water tank went dry. Diamond Girl has two, 60 gallon each water tanks and we filled both of them in Port Angeles two days before. Yikes, that means we used 60 gallons of water in two days and we have four days to go before we get to refill in Monterey. We simply were not going to make it at this rate. We analysed the problem and identifed three uses of water; The water we drink from the tap, the water we leave in the head and the water that is used to do the dishes. It appears that eating well had taken a toll on the water supply as there was no way we could drink that much water. Glenn and I crossed our fingers and were able to get the watermaker working later in the day and the crisis was averted. We had Michelles chilli for diner and it was wonderful. Last night we had noodles and meat sauce that Mark brought and everyone was well feed and content. It was great! The watch schedule that Glenn put together is working well. We each keep a two, four hour watchs and then have a couple of two our segments. This way everyone gets to take the midnight to four and four to eight watches. The biggest surprise so far is that we have had sunny skies every day at sea. Typically it is clouldy this time of year so we are very happy. This also means we get to view the full moon all night long! Thats it for tonight. Tomorrow we have to make some course changes to keep up with the wind. It is just as stressfull finding wind as avoiding too much wind. Larry
