We stayed at Red Shank in George Town for over two weeks without lifting the anchor. It took a couple of days to clean up some new boat issues and then we just relaxed. No need to worry much about the weather because we had good all around protection. Went into town on a couple of days, about a two mile ride in the dinghy, celebrated Nancy's birthday at a nearby local Bahamian restaurant, about a one mile ride in the dinghy, but great red snapper! Tried taking some more underwater pictures. We have posted a couple of them but the water here is a bit cloudy and there is not a lot of healthy coral. The weather has been lousy for 4 or 5 days also, cloudy, rainy, windy and cool. The water temperature was 76 degrees when we arrived, and now has dropped to 69 degrees. One saving grace: we got our biggest lobster yet with a carapace measuring 6 and 1/8 inches. Our last biggest was 5 and ½.
We are now anchored at Thompson Bay, Long Island and if the weather looks good in a few days we may head down further south to the Ragged Islands. We have enjoyed grouper fingers at Long Island Breeze and their wonderful hospitality. Met up with more cruisers also hoping for better weather.
