On the hard in Trinidad

DD arrived in Trinidad in the early morning on the 30. April 2010 coming from Grenada. By noon arrangements were made at Power Boat Yard for a haulout on the following Tuesday. While on the hard, to our dismay the rainy season started. You hurry up in the morning hours to accomplish everything before 11 a.m. what would normally take you a whole day to do. After 11 a.m. the sky would open up with a starting overture of a downpour close to biblical porportions and you would scramble up the ladder to retreat to the inside of your ark. After the gusher had stopped and you discovered your ladder is still there and has not floated away, you would rush down and mop frantically down the hull good enough, so that your wife could slap on another coat of bottom paint before everything goes to hell again with another monsoon. This is paradise and the mosquitos, eeh we don't want to talk about them now! We managed and launched between downpours on the 20. May, leaving the same day, rather escaping, for Margarita, Venezuela.
