Three busy weeks in the lagoon

We had left St. Thomas on the 6. Feb. 2010 after a long, 3-1/2 months stay to cruise down the Caribbean islands toward Trinidad. A quick stop in Tortola, BVI to buy a few Perkins spare parts for our diesel engine at the efficient Parts & Power company in Road Town (best stocked Perkins Engine Distributor in the Caribbean and maybe the whole of South America) Further, we crossed the Anegada Passage with an overnighter to St. Martin. Here we settled down in the lagoon on the French side for a few weeks. Bought some 25 liters of bottom paint, a new gas BBQ which we now store below and the usual this and that items from the marine stores. St. Martin is a cruiser friendly place with lots of entertainment and good food at cruiser budget prices, so we ate out a lot. A whole bunch of our cruiser friends were there at the same time and socializing kept us busy. Once we found out that our good friends Linda and Ed from "Dreamtime" were coming also, we had to stay to meet up. There is always lots to talk about when you haven't seen each other for a few years. The only down side was the growth on DD's bottom. It became astronomical after only three weeks and on the 4th of March, we made a run down the island chain to Antigua for a week to meet up with our friends Marie and John from "Metalia", and after this cruised on further down to The Saintes!
