Recife and a world famous artist
14 July 2009 | Recife, Brazil
After leaving Salvador on July 11th, we made a pit stop a couple of days later at the brand new container harbor of Suape. There we found a well sheltered spot for a restful night before we moved on the next morning to Recife. Motoring into the harbor of Recife we noticed on our port side unusual looking statues. Upon closer inspection through our binoculars they revealed to be phalluses of every size and imagination, planted like a forrest. Later we learned that Brazil's most notable artist, Francisco Brennand, had created these in additon to thousands of other artistically pieces in his museum and studio.
We spent most of the day wandering the streets sightseeing and looking for an internet cafe.
