Ile aux Moines, Golfe du Morbihan
You can probably tell, cabin fever set in yesterday - BIG TIME! So today despite the showery conditions we walked the 11km Sentier Cotier (coastal path) around Ile aux Moines armed with our wet weather gear and a flask of coffee.
The coastal path took us past a few small beaches and on through a forest of pine trees, then onto open ground covered with ferns and marshland with a few boggy patches.
A real mixture of terrain as we passed several stone fountains and the occasional Megalithe. Wild flowers, trees, shrubs, birds, butterfly's were abundant throughout the walk together with the occasional wild rabbit. With the exception of a group of 30 french OAP's walking in the opposite direction we were the only ones walking the path - wonderful!
The weather was better than we expected too with only a couple of light showers that seemed to occur every time we stopped for a coffee or a sit down. Thankfully we didn't get too wet.
After a refreshing shower in the port and returning back to the boat we then spent another enjoyable evening with Dom and John from HT Tapestry before they moved back to Arzal, their home port. Thanks Dom and John for recommending the island, we loved it and hope to see you in Arzal soon!
