It's so refreshing to see that Christmas doesn't start until the month of December unlike September or October in the UK. Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas but for me September is far too early! "Bah Humbug!".

Most of the roads and alleys in La Rochelle are nicely decorated with various lights or decorations. Tables and chairs remain outside most of the bars, cafes and restaurants for those who wish to take in the ambience and have a warming drink!













The market hall is one of the highlights and walking around it really gets you in the Christmas spirit.



In the town centre, Christmas images are projected against one of the large walls of the Hotel-de-Ville showing various Christmas scenes - Father Christmas, Christmas Presents and Snow Scenes which are lovely. To complete the picture a huge Christmas tree sits proudly in the centre of the square.
