Formentera, Ensenada del Cabrito (Calo de S'Oli)
The seabed, 7m of crystal clear water underneath Flirtie. Wow!
We were pleased with this anchorage because it's well protected, close to the town of La Savina, has crystal clear waters and as an added bonus we slept well despite the occasional wash from the ferries.
La Savina, the port of Formentera is only a short dinghy ride away. It has two small marinas, plenty of bars and restaurants to enjoy, two small supermarkets and surprisingly a very well stocked chandler 'Nautica Pins' which looks to sell almost anything including fishing and diving gear - an unexpected 'find' in what is otherwise a very small town.
Formentera is the smallest of the four main Balearic Islands, just 20km from east to west. It's very arid and covered in wild rosemary - it's everywhere together with thousands of green lizards.
Ibiza wall lizard
It appears that you don't hire cars here but instead mopeds, motorbikes, quad bikes or bicycles are the favourite forms of transport in order to see the island.
